American USAAF Flying Fortress Bombardier Named Grouping


WWII era US Army Air Force grouping named to a bombardier of a Flying Fortress bomber. Named to William McGonigle who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with clusters, and European campaign medal. Comes with his sterling AMICO bombardier wings (full-size and shirt-size). Multiple sets of WWII dog tags with sterling dog tag chain. Several other items included:

  • News paper clippings
  • Locket with William and his father
  • B-24 lapel pin
  • Copy of service record in miniature
  • Photo album with several photos from service, including nose are with William
  • Framed photo
  • Small folding photo album

Overall a great grouping. According to his service record he was stationed and flew missions in the Mediterranean, Italy, Southern France, and the Balkans.
