Belgian Vlaanderen Korps SS Forage Cap Swastika Badge

Excellent swastika patch worn on the forage cap of the Flemish Legion of the SS. The patch is machine embroidered with silver rayon threads on a woven rayon back with finished edging. It was worn on the left side of a black forage cap with a death’s head button at the front. Measures 50mm tall by 40mm wide. Very nice condition and a rare find. Does not appear to be removed from a cap, but possibly.

The Flemish Legion (Dutch: Vlaams Legioen) was a collaborationist military formation recruited among Dutch-speaking volunteers from German-occupied Belgium, notably from Flanders, during World War II. It was formed in the aftermath of the German invasion of the Soviet Union and fought on the Eastern Front in the Waffen SS alongside similar formations from other parts of German-occupied Western Europe.
