A scarce original pre-1940 example of the British Union of Fascists flash membership badge; chromium plated badge 12mm across with slightly knurled pin. Very nice condition. Rare item.
The flash and circle badge was used by the British Union of Fascists (BUF) from circa 1935 – 1940; and again by Sir Oswald Mosley’s Union Movement party after the war beginning in 1948.
The British Union of Fascists (BUF) was a British fascist political party formed in 1932 by Sir Oswald Mosley. Mosley changed its name to the British Union of Fascists and National Socialists in 1936 and, in 1937, to the British Union. In 1939, following the start of the WWII, the party was proscribed by the British government and in 1940 it was disbanded.
