Early German Deutsche Jungvolk DJV Member Badge
A 1930’s Deutsches Jungvolk “German Youths” badge; in silvered Tombac with black and textured red enamels. Marked “Ges. Gesch.” on badge and Steinhauer & Luck Ludenscheid.
The DJV version of the badge was 1st pattern and only used for under 1 year.
The DJ (Deutsches Jungvolk) was a youth organization similar to the Hitler Youth, but was meant solely for boys of the ages 10-14. Membership became fully compulsory for boys in 1939.
