German Army M44 NCO/EM Triangle Breast Eagle Patch

Beautiful unused M44 gray on feldgrau triangle breast eagle patch for NCO and EM wear. Great feel to the patch, excellent unused stock. Measures 95mm in width.

During the pre-war years of the Third Reich, most army uniforms had a hand embroidered eagle with a green wool background. In the later 1930’s machine woven type (BeVo) appeared. While at first on the same brighter green, this later was dropped from the tunics, the eagles began to be manufactured with feldgrau (field gray) backgrounds instead. A tan veriant was made for the tropical tunics, black versions for Panzer uniforms and a simplified, triangular type was made for the M44 tunic at the end of the war, this was the fifth type. It was typical to find nearly all of the variants (M34, M36, M39, M40 and M44) during the war.
