Very rare and well made stickpin of the BDO commemorating 10 years of membership. Made in heavily silvered Tombac and black and white enamels. The badge is 19mm tall and marked on reverse GES GESCH and with maker name HOFFSTATTER BONN. Knurled pin is 50mm tall.
The Federation of the German East (BDO) was founded on “Day of the German East”, May 27, 1933. The BDO united the German Eastern Brand Association, among other things, with the “Heimatbund East Prussia”, the “Young Prussian Movement” and the “Reich League of Silesians”. Together with the People’s Association for Germanness Abroad (VDA), it was placed under the control of the Volksdeutsche Mittelstelle (VoMi) on February 3, 1939 by an order from the “Deputy of the Führer”, Rudolf Hess, one of the most important pillars of the Nazi ethnic politics.
