German Deluxe Luftwaffe M1937 Dolchgehänge Dagger Hangers
$124.97
The buckles, bands and clips are all constructed in gilt zinc alloy. Spring loaded clips work perfectly. The reverse of the short hanger clip is marked D.R.G.M. While there is no belt hanger, each strap is complete with clip, buckle, and band. The straps are constructed out of a cotton base that is covered in a blue-grey felt material (reverse) and a patterned cotton, rayon and aluminum flat-wire stitching (obverse). Approx. 20 of the original gold gilt remains. The longer strap is 240mm long, while the shorter is 215mm long.
The Luftwaffe was the aerial-warfare branch of the Wehrmacht before and during World War II. Germany’s military air arms during World War I, the Luftstreitkräfte of the Imperial Army and the Marine-Fliegerabteilung of the Imperial Navy, had been disbanded in May 1920 in accordance with the terms of the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, which banned Germany from having any air force.
