The German Women’s Front (DFF) was founded in May 1933 on behalf of Robert Ley under the leadership of Lydia Gottschewsky in the style of the German Labor Front (DAF).

The DFF was to serve as an umbrella organization for the unification of all women’s organizations. A month later, a new fragmentation occurred when Paula Sieber, the consultant for women’s issues of the Reich Ministry of the Interior, founded the Reich Working Group of German Women’s Associations (RAG). RAG also aimed to unite the associations. In fall 1933 it united with the RAG and formed the DFW (Frauenwerk) of the NSDAP.
