German HJ Hitler Youth Fire Defense Sleeve Diamond Patch
$249.97
A machine woven badge, in the form of a 42mm x 60mm vertical diamond, which features the Police emblem of an eagle and swastika against an oval wreath of oak leaves, all in a carmine color, with red flames with white articulations rising above it. The diamond has a thin carmine border, which distinguishes it as for enlisted personnel (as opposed to the white border reserved for leaders), and its upper and lower divisions are in black, and its left and right in white, in imitation of a Hitler Youth diamond. Folded for application and stiffened with period newsprint paper. Tested and does not glow in black light. Excellent and rare original.
The Hitler Youth (German: Hitlerjugend, often abbreviated as HJ) was the youth organisation of the Nazi Party in Germany. Its origins date back to 1922 and it received the name Hitler-Jugend, Bund deutscher Arbeiterjugend (“Hitler Youth, League of German Worker Youth”) in July 1926. From 1936 until 1945, it was the sole official boys’ youth organisation in Germany and it was partially a paramilitary organisation. It was composed of the Hitler Youth proper for male youths aged 14 to 18, and the German Youngsters in the Hitler Youth (Deutsches Jungvolk in der Hitler Jugend or “DJ”, also “DJV”) for younger boys aged 10 to 14.
