German Kampfmesser (Combat Fighting Knife)

Great example of a German “boot” fighting knife. Fitted with a single edged and a slight Bowie styled blade this is an original fighting knife used by the Germans in WW1 and then again in WW2. In nice used condition, this knife has an all-wood grip with hatching secured by two pins. The blade is one sided but has a small return of about two inches at the point. Blade length 6″ overall length is 10.25″.
Overall well used, but without damage or major issues. Blade is without chips or damage, dose appear to be sharpened -lightly. No maker mark present. There is some black paint near base. Rolled steel scabbard has about 60% paint remaining with some surface rust. Spring still works well. Handle is tight and in good condition, while the cross-guard is loose. Hanger leather is cracked but still supple without tears or damage. Ornate metal snap works fine as well.
