Very nice enamel and silvered Tombac badge from the end of the Imperial German era. The Katholischer Frauenbund (KFB) was the earliest form of the Katholischer Deutscher Frauenbund (KDFB), which is still active today, but was known as the KFB from inception in 1903 until 1916 only. Measures 23mm in diameter and has a small Madonna & Child medallion suspended before the badge. The pin-plate is marked GES GESCH. Shown in Husken as 9120d.

The KDFB (1903–1916: Catholic Women’s League (KFB), 1916–1921: Catholic Women’s League of Germany (KFD), 1921–1983: Catholic German Women’s League, KDF) was founded on November 16, 1903, in Cologne as part of the women’s movement of the time. Emilie Hopmann served as the founding chairwoman from 1903 to 1912, and Clara Siebert served as vice chairwoman until 1919. Co-founders and vice chairwomen of the Catholic Women’s League in Cologne were Minna Bachem-Sieger (1903–1919) and Hedwig Dransfeld (1912–1925), who became one of the first women to enter the Reichstag in 1919.
