German SA/NSKK/SS Dagger Upper & Lower Crossguard Set

Nice condition early production nickle-silver set of upper and lower crossguards for a SA, SS, NSKK German dagger. Each is marked on the interior with a H. The lower guard is marked Nrh for SA Gruppe Niederrhein. Overall in very good condition with some slight corrosion/discoloration.

The design of the SA/SS/NSKK dagger was based on the 16th century Swiss dagger. The center of the wide and long spear-pointed blade has a very pronounced rib. The official motto of the organization was etched along the longer axis of the blade in most cases, with some exceptions.

The crossguard and pommel were nickel-plated or solid nickle; the handle was wood inlaid with the Parteiadler eagle and a roundel dependent on organization. The metal scabbard was covered in lacquer with silver-plated chape and mount. The dagger was introduced in 1933 and there were a number of vraiant depending on the years of manufacturing and purpose.
