The Swabian Alb Club e. (short SAV) with headquarters in Stuttgart was founded on 13. Founded in Plochingen in August 1888, making it one of the oldest hiking associations in Germany. Its territory extends far beyond the eponymous mountains, the Swabian Alb, out, to the north to the Tauber, to the south to Lake Constance, thus including the former state of Württemberg.
