Romanian Iron Guard & Germany NSDAP Commemorative Badge
Metal badge commemorating the Romanian entry into the Tripartite with Germany, Italy, and Japan. The Iron Guard (1927-1941) viewed this as the opportunity to rise to power in Romania as they were supported by Germany and the Nazi Party. But, in Spring 1941 a failed coup by the Iron Guard led to their crushing at the hands of the Romanian military. The Germans viewed the Iron Guard as too radical to be a reliable ally.
The badge is non-magnetic metal. Well made and crisp detail. Screw-back design with marked backplate. Badge is numbered 22053. Excellent, and rare item.
