US Army Purple Heart Cased with Named Extract
WWII era US Army Purple Heart in gilt bronze, original ribbon with sewn brooch pinback. In original case. Unnumbered. This appears to be an early Purple Heart (early 1930s manufacture), issued during WWII. Note the flat design and purple enamel in stars & stripes.
Comes with original extract for 328th Infantry Division soldier Pvt First Class Herbert C Wilson who earned the Purple Heart the 19th of February, 1945 in Saarlouis-Roden, Germany. Oak leaf cluster indicates this is the second award. He was also awarded the Silver Star one day earlier – available on this site as well.
