First pattern DRK visor cap eagle for wear by all ranks as introduced in 1935. Die struck alloy eagle with black and red enamel work and nickel/silver plated finishes. The stylized, black enamel eagle features down swept wings with a black enamel swastika to its breast, clutching a red enamel cross in its talons with nickel/silver plated detailing.
Small section of missing enamel on the cross. The solid reverse has its original soldered attachment prong intact. The reverse is well marked with embossed “Ges. Gesch.”, indicating Gesetzlich Geschützt (Protected by Law).
