German HJ Hitler Youth Marine-HJ/DJ Rank Insignia

1938 pattern, revised sleeve rank insignia consists of a roughly 60mm diameter navy blue wool base with dual machine embroidered rank pips in silvery/grey threads to the center. The reverse of the insignia has a protective black oilcloth backing. The insignia signifies the ranks of Marine-HJ Scharführer, and DJ-Jungzugführer.

The Hitler Youth (German: Hitlerjugend, often abbreviated as HJ,) was the youth organization of the Nazi Party in Germany. Its origins date back to 1922 and it received the name Hitler-Jugend, Bund deutscher Arbeiterjugend (“Hitler Youth, League of German Worker Youth”) in July 1926. From 1936 until 1945, it was the sole official boys’ youth organisation in Germany and it was partially a paramilitary organisation. It was composed of the Hitler Youth proper for male youths aged 14 to 18, and the German Youngsters in the Hitler Youth (Deutsches Jungvolk in der Hitler Jugend or “DJ”, also “DJV”) for younger boys aged 10 to 14.
