The insignia consists of a roughly, 60mm diameter, white cotton base with a machine embroidered horizontal torpedo superimposed over a cogged wheel with four internal spokes, all in cornflower blue cotton threads. The reverse of the badge still has its original, loosely woven, protective white fabric backing.
