German KVK1 War Merit Cross w/o Swords First Class Screwback

Constructed of silvered die-stamped metal, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with pebbled arms, with a central wreathed mobile swastika. High polish features with a matte finish to the surfaces. Measures 49mm across the arms. Screwback fastener with a ribbed plate which measures 38mm in diameter. Overall in excellent condition with a nice toning. Neither cross or plate are marked.
The War Merit Cross (German: Kriegsverdienstkreuz) was a state decoration of Nazi Germany during World War II. By the end of the conflict it was issued in four degrees and had an equivalent civil award.
