Spanish Civil War Falangist “Old Guard” Medal with Bar
Falange Old Guard Medal. Issued to the members of the Falange Party of General Franco that had joined its ranks prior to the end of the Spanish Civil War (1939). Named award, attributed to Miguel M. Garcia Raamonde, numbered 4238 and dated 1933 (the year recipient joined the Falange). These medals were claimed and awarded until 1950 as the recipients could also receive a pension for their contribution in the war. It is estimated that 31,000 medals only were awarded.
Medal is in excellent condition, both enamel and ribbon. The black Falange denotes the recipient as a member of the JONS. The bar is for rank in the Falange of Hefe de Centuria.
