United States Early United Sons of Confederate Veterans Souvenir Medal

Very nice original medal. Measures 2-1/2″ tall. Gilt brass with painted flag. Very good condition. Marked SCHWAAB & SONS MILWAUKEE on reverse of both medal and hanger. No pin was ever attached, so this likely was hung from a ribbon originally.
The USCV (United Sons of Confederate Veterans) was the very earliest name used by the SCV (Sons of Confederate Veterans). Formed in 1896, by the start of the 1900s the “United” was dropped and the group was officially known as the SCV. This is a rare very early variant.
